1. Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi – “The most pregnant Olympic athlete in history”.
Yes, that’s right. She got this unusual title in record books during women’s 10 meter air rifle event at the 2012 London Olympics. She was 8 months pregnant first rifle shooter from Malaysia to compete in Olympics.She did’t win the medal but she definitely won respect for being so brave. Her husband was the only person who stood by her side while people criticized her for being selfish towards her baby.
2. Kerri Walsh Jennings – Six packs while performing her pregnancy dives.
Kerri Walsh Jennings and her team mate May-Treanor extended their achievements in Olympics from Athens, Beijing and London in 2012. During this time the world didn’t knew that Kerri Walsh was 5 weeks pregnant with her third child. She went against all odds and got a six packs while performing her pregnancy dives.
3. Anky van Grunsven – Consistently won during pregnancy.
Dutch dressage champion Anky van Grunsven holds record for winning most of the Olympic records. She is the only rider to make three successive records in one single event. When she won the second one she disclosed to her friends in Athens that she was pregnant.
4. Kerstin Szymkowiak – The “Ice Tiger”.
This German skeleton racer is also called the “Ice Tiger” and the title suits her as she was 2 months pregnant when she won a silver medal in 2010. After retiring she was appointed as an Athlete Role Model for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck.
5. Khatuna Lorig – Single mom and 4 months pregnant winning a bronze medal.
Back in 1992, single mom with her son, Lorrig was 4 months pregnant when she was competing in Barcelona Olympics and won a bronze medal. She later gave a statement that she was trained so well that Olympics was just another competition and nothing more.
