Sardar Vallabhai Patel played a major role in the freedom struggle with Mahatma Gandhi. He was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India. He was a honest, hardworking and dedicated politician of those times with a capability of taking sane decisions for our country’s betterment and progress.
His place of birth is Karamsad but there isn’t any records of his date of birth. Anyhow we follow 31st October on the basis of his university examination papers.
Patel’s father served in the army of the Queen of Jhansi. He was a farmer by birth and nature and worked with his father. This is how he got nerves of steel and title of ” Iron man of India”.
3. When he was affected by Bubonic Plague
Gujarat was hit by Bubonic Plague and also one of his good friends. Patel stayed with his friend to take care of him and unfortunately he himself got affected. Later he went away from his family and lived in a temple in Nadiad and came back after recovering fully.
4. When Nehru accused Patel
Once Nehru accused him being communal and this was the last time they confronted each other. Patel packed his stuff and left the the meeting feeling insulted.
5. An admirer of Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi was one person Patel admired and was very attached. He suffered from a major heart attack within two months of Gandhi’s death.

Patel was opposite RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh) headed by Gowalker which created communal issues.

He played a very crucial role in creating Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and created a better bureaucratic structure for the betterment of the company.
