Women Should Be Aware Of These Legal Rights To Raise Voice Against Injustice!!!

There are 10 legal rights that every woman should use to raise voice if anyone dares to go against the law and misbehave. Laws are made to protect us and help us fight back and so it’s our duty to spread awareness and help ourselves and the needy.

1. Right To Free Aid

Woman can go to police station and get a legal aid all by herself without being accompanied by a lawyer.

2. Right To Privacy

A woman who has been raped has the right to give her statement in private with a lady constable or police officer.

3. Right To Untimely Registration

A woman may avoid going to a police station to complaint by the fear of getting tortured by the culprit or his family. So, no questions are supposed to be raised no matter how late she decides to register a complaint.

4. Right To Virtual Complaints

Woman has every right to lodge complaint via email or registered email to Deputy Commissioner or Commissioner of police.

5. Right To Zero FIR

The victim cannot be send to another police station and taken for granted. Under right to zero FIR should be filed without any further argument.

A woman cannot be arrested after sunset or before sunrise even if a woman constable is present.

7. Right To Not Being Called To The Police Station (Section 160 of Criminal Procedure Code)

A police can interrogate a woman at her residence only in the presence of woman constable, family or friends. So never go to a police station if you are called for any kind of enquiry.

8. Right To Confidentiality (Section 228-A of Indian Penal Code)

The identity of a rape victim should not be revealed at any circumstances.

9. Right To Get A Medical Report (Section 164 A of Criminal Procedure code)

A woman who is a rape victim has right to have a copy of medical report from the doctor.

It is duty of employers to create a Sexual Harassment Complaints Committee within the organization.
