The Nobel Peace Prize winner of 1979 , Mother Teresa was an inspiration to the world for her long list of good deeds. She tried making this world a better place for the poor and the needy. Let’s take a glance at her truly inspirational life.
When Mother Teresa came to India to teach, she was surprised to see the the immense poverty in Calcutta. This led to her state of a new mission to look after helpless people who had no one to take care and look after.
Mother Teresa and a group of nuns who would devote themselves to help the poor and needy and survived in very low income and food. In fact they would need to beg for funds.
3) Her work
She opened her home for the dying , which was to allow people to die with dignity, and people need her for medical care. She in short supported and gave a sense to the neglected a sense of ‘ knowing that someone cared.
4) Criticism faced
In spite of all this good deeds she received a lot of criticism. She left all of the behind and continued her work with utter dedication. She was woman with a great mission.
She was respected in the society and although she was extremely religious in faith she never pushed anyone to convert their religion. She helped people with no expectations and gave them religious rites
they needed for their faith.
6) Determination and last days
During the last few decades she faced many hardships regarding her own health. However, she was so determined that nothing could stop her from serving the needy. Before her death she met Princess Diana in New York. And later within a week she died.
There are 700 missions in over 130 countries which now include orphanages and hospices. We should all try doing our bit before saying a goodbye from this world.
