Some Tourist Places Affected Due To Flood In Chennai, A Natural Disaster Causes A Great Loss…


Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the Tamil Nadu state. It’s a famous and very beautiful place which attracts many Indian and Foreigners but a natural disaster destroys its beauty and causes a great loss to it. So, here we are going to know about some tourist place which are affected by flood.

8 Tourist places affected by flood are:-

1. Crocodile bank

The first crocodile breeding center in Asia. The Crocodile Bank has a total of 2,483 animals, including 14 species of crocodiles, 10 species of turtles, 3 species of snakes, and 1 species of lizard and this bank a great loss and threaten during flood.


2. Marina Beach

It is the longest natural urban beach in the country and the world’s second longest natural urban beach. The most crowded beach in the country and attracts about 30,000 visitors a day during weekdays and 50,000 visitors a day during the weekends and on holidays but this time due to flood its lost it vistiors to come.


3. Cholamandal artist village

This is 9 km from Chennai which have over 20 resident painters and sculptors, who live as a community and pool their skills. They run the Artists Handicrafts Association, a cooperative which manages the village and sale of works through the permanent exhibition at the complex, which includes paintings, sketches, terracotta/ stone/metal sculptures, batiks and handicrafts etc But flood bring a great loss to them and damaged a lot of crafts.


4. Arignar Anna zoological park

A best place for visitor Arignar Anna Zoological Park also known as the Vandalur Zoo.Here basically we found Tiger, leopard, lion (hybrid), wild dog, lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri langur, hyena, jackal, blackbucks, Indian bison, barking deer, sambhar, spotted deer, crocodile, snakes, water birds.But due to flood it has to be closed for sometime because  water was collected.


5. Civilian Airport

It is one of the best international airport which serves as the main hub for Spice Jet, Jet Airways, Air Costa, Blue Dart Aviation and as a secondary hub for Air India. It also serves as focus city for Go Air and IndiGo. Airport has been shut for 3 days due to flood with a huge loss.


6. MGR film city

The MGR film city is an integrated film studio complex in Taramani, Chennai established in 1994 mainly to attract filmmakers and tourist. It was originally named as JJ Film City by the AIADMK government. Flood causes a great loss to this film city and remain closed for a day.


7. Mahabalipuram

A huge loss caused to the beautiful place of Chennai due to flood. A good place of Chennai beard a great loss.


8. Pondy bazzar

Chennai’s one of the biggest market named as Pondy bazzar.this market caused a great loss due to flood and swiped almost half of the market.


So, help Chennai to come out from this loss.
